Meet the individuals behind Technologies for Healthier Communities—bringing experience, compassion, and a shared commitment to improving lives.

Mike Harris, LVN
Mike’s background spans military service, EMS, home health, specialty infusion, and correctional healthcare. Across these roles, he has seen firsthand how disparities in access affect outcomes. Whether due to financial barriers, geographic limitations, or system constraints, many individuals are unable to receive the care they need—even when that care is available. He has witnessed the frustration of patients and families who want to follow treatment plans but are prevented from doing so by factors outside their control. His experience underscores the importance of building systems that are not only effective—but accessible. Mike currently serves on our board as the Treasurer.

Kathryn Do, M.Ed.
Kathy brings a background in education and firsthand experience as a caregiver navigating high-risk medical care at home. When her husband was discharged from the hospital with a PICC line, drains, and IV antibiotics, the education she received amounted to only a few minutes. She was left with the overwhelming responsibility of managing complex care—carrying the fear that a mistake could have life-threatening consequences. As a mother, she has also advocated for her daughter, who lives with idiopathic intracranial hypertension—a rare condition that brings daily migraines and limited available information. Navigating prior authorizations, specialty care, and a system that often rushes through appointments has required persistence, resilience, and constant advocacy. Her experience highlights the critical need for clear education, accessible resources, and support for those providing care at home. Kathy also brings vast knowledge in health, fitness, and holistic living. She has been an active CrossFit athlete for more than 10 years. Kathy currently serves on our board as Secretary.

Jen Harris, RN, MS
With over three decades in healthcare, Jen has cared for patients across a wide range of settings and has seen both the strengths and shortcomings of the system. One of the most persistent challenges has been watching patients experience setbacks—not because they are unwilling to follow their care plans, but because they are unable to access the resources required to do so. Delays in insurance authorizations, the high cost of medications, and barriers to timely care often lead to preventable hospitalizations. In many cases, patients are labeled as “noncompliant” when the reality is far more complex—they are navigating a system that is limiting their ability to succeed. Her experience has reinforced a simple but important truth: better outcomes require not just expectations of patients, but systems that support them. Jen currently serves on our board as the President and Executive Director
Together, our experiences have shaped a shared commitment:
To improve access, strengthen education, and create practical solutions that support individuals, families, and communities in achieving better health.
